The short version
- LiveChart, the stack bias and Compass are free. Layers are monthly subscriptions that renew until you cancel.
- Cancel any time, and your layers stay on to the end of the month you've paid for. Partial months aren't refunded, except where the law requires it.
- Your account is for you alone. Don't share it, and don't resell or republish what the chart shows.
- It's charting information, not financial advice. Data and alerts can be late or wrong, and your trades and their results are your own.
This summary is here to help. The full text below is what applies.
01About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and IndicatorStack ("IndicatorStack," "we," "us" or "our"). They cover the IndicatorStack LiveChart (the "Chart"), its layers (Compass, Trigger, Undertow, Coil and Tripwire), accounts, alerts, the website at indicatorstack.com, and our emails and support (together, the "Service").
By using the Service, creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Risk Disclosure, which form part of these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm you're authorized to bind it, and "you" includes the company.
02Who can use it
You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter into a binding contract.
You may not use the Service if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions, or if you are named on a U.S. government list of restricted parties.
03What the Service includes
- The Core, free. The Chart on US-listed stocks and ETFs, the stack bias, the plan and Compass, and bias-flip alerts. You can use the Core without an account.
- Layers, by subscription. Trigger, Undertow, Coil and Tripwire each add their reads, chart drawings and, for Trigger, entry and exit signals and alerts. Each layer is $9 a month; all four together, the Full Stack, are $29 a month.
- The Desk, by subscription. An optional add-on, $19 a month: direct email support with the Service, and coaching on using it well (settings for the tickers you trade, alerts, and fitting the layers into your routine). It covers the Service, not your trading decisions (section 11), and reply times aren't guaranteed, though we aim to answer within two business days.
- An account, for settings that follow you between devices, subscriptions and email alerts, your watchlist and trade journal, and a profile you can show on charts you share. You're responsible for what you add to your profile and journal, and for what you share.
- The Chart runs in your web browser on market data from a third-party provider (section 9). Signals, grades, levels and readouts are calculations on that data. They are not records of real trades, and illustrations on the website are not records of results.
04Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep access to that email address secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- An account is for one person. Don't share it, sell it or let others use it, and don't create accounts to get around limits or a suspension.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access; "Sign out everywhere" on your account page ends every session.
- Keep your email address current: sign-in codes, billing notices and alerts go there.
05Your use of the Service
While you keep to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own analysis and your own trading. You may not, and may not allow anyone else to:
- share your account, or the paid layers, with anyone else;
- copy, resell, republish or redistribute the Chart's signals, grades, readouts or market data, including in chat groups, Discord or Telegram servers, social media or another product;
- use the Service to run a commercial signal, alert, copy-trading, advisory or education service for others, or to manage other people's money, without our written permission;
- scrape the Service, call its data or account endpoints from outside the website, or run automated tools against it;
- try to reach layers, data or systems you haven't paid for or aren't authorized to use, or interfere with the Service's security or operation;
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it despite this restriction, or copy its logic, text or design to build a competing product.
06Subscriptions and payment
Layers and The Desk are subscriptions that renew automatically every month and are charged to your saved payment method at the price shown when you subscribe, until you cancel.
- Prices are in US dollars. You're responsible for any taxes, duties or bank fees that apply. Where we're required to collect sales tax, VAT or a similar tax, it's added to the charge.
- Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms. You enter your card or wallet details into Stripe's secure form; they never reach our servers.
- Adding a layer is charged straight away for the rest of your current month, then renews with your other layers. Removing a layer leaves a credit for the unused part, applied to your next renewal. With all four layers, you pay the Full Stack price, $29, instead of the four separately.
- Price changes. We'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, so you can cancel first. A change never affects a period you've already paid for.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it and your layers stay on while it does. If it still can't be collected, the subscription ends and the Chart returns to the free Core.
07Cancelling and refunds
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from your account page, in the billing portal, or by emailing us. Your layers stay on until the end of the month you've already paid for, then switch off. Your account, settings and the free Core stay.
- Refunds. Subscription fees already paid aren't refunded for a partly used month, except where the law requires it.
- If it doesn't work as described. If a layer doesn't work materially as described on this website, tell us within 30 days. We'll fix it, and if we can't, we'll refund what you paid for that layer for that month.
- Customers in the EU, the UK and similar places. You normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online contract. When you subscribe, you ask us to start the Service at once and acknowledge that, once it has been fully provided for the period, you lose that right; if you withdraw sooner, we may keep a proportionate amount for the days used. This doesn't affect your legal rights if the Service is faulty.
- Chargebacks. If something is wrong, please contact us first; most problems are fixed the same day. If a charge is reversed, the layers it paid for switch off.
08Alerts
The Chart can alert you in your browser tab, with desktop notifications, with a sound and by email. Alerts come from charts you have open in your browser: they depend on the Chart staying open, on your browser (which may slow a background tab), on your notification permissions, on your connection and on email providers. Email alerts are sent once the bar that triggered them closes.
Alerts can be delayed, missed or duplicated, and a market can move before one reaches you. Don't rely on alerts alone, and treat them as information about what the Chart calculated, never as an instruction to trade. You can turn alerts on and off in the Chart's Settings and on your account page.
09Market data
The Chart uses market data from FMP, a third-party provider. Data may be delayed, incomplete, corrected after the fact, or different from your broker's, and the Chart can only be as accurate as the data it receives. The data is for your own personal, non-commercial use within the Service: don't copy, store or redistribute it.
10Changes to the Service
We may improve, change or discontinue features of the Service, including how a layer reads the market, and we may stop offering a layer. If we stop offering a paid layer you subscribe to, we'll tell you by email, stop charging for it, and credit or refund the unused part of the period you've paid for.
11Not financial advice
The Service is for information and education. Nothing in the Chart, its layers, its alerts, on this website, in our emails or in support is financial, investment, tax, legal or trading advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any security, future, option, currency, cryptocurrency or other instrument.
The Service provides general, impersonal information that isn't tailored to you: everyone looking at the same ticker, interval and settings sees the same thing. The Desk helps you use the Service; it doesn't tell you what to buy or sell, review your trades, or give advice about your finances. We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, commodity trading advisor or fiduciary, and using the Service doesn't create an advisory or fiduciary relationship. The Service doesn't place trades. You alone decide what to trade, and you alone are responsible for the results. Trading carries substantial risk: please read the Risk Disclosure.
12Our intellectual property
The Service (including its code, logic, names, text and design) and our branding belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. IndicatorStack, The Stack, Compass, Trigger, Undertow, Coil and Tripwire are our trademarks. Apart from the right to use the Service in section 5, no rights are transferred to you.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
13Third-party services
Market data comes from FMP, payments run through Stripe, our emails are sent by an email delivery provider, and our pages load fonts and analytics from Google. Each is a separate company with its own terms and privacy policy, and we're not responsible for their availability, accuracy or changes.
14Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that any signal, label, grade, alert, level, market data or other output will be accurate, timely, complete or profitable.
Nothing in this section limits the fix or refund remedy in section 7, or any rights you have by law that can't be excluded.
15Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IndicatorStack and its owners, employees and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any trading losses, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
16Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless IndicatorStack and its owners, employees and affiliates from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your trading decisions. This doesn't apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own breach or misconduct, and it applies to consumers only as far as the law allows.
17Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Service, or to an account, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, for example by sharing an account or redistributing signals or data. Where the breach is serious, we may do so without a refund. You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account.
Sections that by their nature should continue (including sections 5 and 11 to 22) survive the end of your use of the Service.
18Disputes and governing law
- Talk to us first. Most problems are solved by email. Before starting a formal claim, email us a description of the problem and what you'd like done, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where IndicatorStack is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
- Where claims are heard. Subject to the next point, claims must be brought in the state or federal courts serving the area where IndicatorStack is based, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may bring an eligible claim in small-claims court instead.
- Consumers outside the United States keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where they live, and may bring claims in their local courts.
- Individual claims. To the extent the law allows, claims must be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class or representative action, and within one year after the claim arose.
19Electronic communications
You agree that we may contact you and give you notices by email at your account's address, and that agreements, notices and receipts we send electronically satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
Sign-in codes and billing emails are part of the Service, so you can't opt out of them while you have an account or a subscription. Alert emails are sent only while you have them turned on. We only send marketing emails if you've agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
20Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version on this page with a new "last updated" date and, for material changes, email active subscribers at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service, or keep a subscription active, after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
21General
- These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Risk Disclosure are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that part is changed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
- If we don't enforce a provision straight away, we haven't waived it.
- You can't transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a sale of the business.
- We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages at our data provider, Stripe, or internet or email providers.
- These Terms are written in English. If a translation differs, the English version controls.
- You must comply with the export-control and sanctions laws that apply to you.
